I wrote “If Negotiates with.... Time” while thinking about all the ways we struggle with time. We say things like too late, not yet, someday, one more, not enough. We blame Time as if it is taking something from us, when often we are really feeling the ache of endings, delays, missed chances, or things we could not keep.
Then I started noticing how If stands there quietly inside all of it. If only. If I had known. If I had more time. If I could go back. If whispers like it is telling the truth, but sometimes it is just grief trying to edit what already happened.
This song became a little story about the Human standing between Time and If, learning not to fear one or obey every whisper from the other. And then that Cat Mind appears at the threshold, reminding us to stay quiet and curious, keep tracking, and notice what is actually here.
